Sakeena Itoo Inaugurates New PHC in Kulgam to Boost Healthcare

KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 20: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, inaugurated a new Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Devsar, Kulgam. The event took place in the presence of MLA Devsar, Peerzada Feroz Ahmad, and various senior officials from the district and health administration, along with a large gathering of locals.

The new PHC aims to provide essential healthcare services to the local population, ensuring accessible and quality healthcare is available within their immediate vicinity. Minister Itoo emphasized the government’s dedication to expanding health infrastructure in rural and remote areas, declaring that no citizen should be deprived of basic medical facilities.

During her speech, Itoo highlighted significant health initiatives launched by the government, imploring healthcare staff to approach their work with dedication and compassion. She stated, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, our government commits to values of transparency, accountability, and a pro-people approach while pursuing holistic development across Jammu and Kashmir.”

Also addressing the gathering, MLA Peerzada Feroz Ahmad remarked that the health centre would greatly enhance local healthcare services. He assured that the regional administration would maintain its efforts toward the overall development of the area. Furthermore, he urged the Minister to consider upgrading existing hospitals and schools in the constituency.

Following the inauguration, Minister Itoo engaged with local residents, discussing various issues affecting their community. She listened carefully to their concerns, assuring them that their genuine issues would be addressed promptly.
