Illegal Revolver Seized from Man in Samba, Police Arrests Suspect

The Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a man in Samba, recovering an illegal revolver from his possession. The incident unfolded on Saturday, when police spotted Munna Singh, a resident of Sohal village, acting suspiciously near JDA Colony.

Singh, currently residing in Samba, was heading towards Kikri Morh from Data Talab. Upon noticing the police patrol, he attempted to escape, but officers quickly apprehended him.

During a personal search, police found a revolver in Singh’s possession. They noted that he could not present any valid license or legal documentation for carrying the firearm.

The police registered a case against Singh under the relevant provisions of the Arms Act at the Bari Brahmana police station. Authorities have launched an investigation to uncover any possible links to broader criminal activities.

Experts warn that the rise in illegal firearms poses a significant threat to society. Illegal possession of firearms can lead to violent crimes, and law enforcement agencies are on high alert to curb this trend.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police continue to conduct regular patrols in the area, focusing on the prevention of crime through increased visibility and community engagement.

Public cooperation remains vital in these efforts. Local residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities immediately to the authorities, as it directly contributes to maintaining peace and safety in the region.
