Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha inaugurated the new Centre of Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital today in Qamarwari, Srinagar. This facility aims to provide advanced eye care services while emphasizing the pivotal role of AI-powered systems in enhancing healthcare accessibility.
Sinha urged the medical fraternity to focus on making healthcare accessible and affordable to everyone, especially engaging specialists with patients in remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). “Over the past decade, modern technologies have transformed eye care, offering faster and more accurate diagnoses along with personalized treatments,” he stated.
The integration of AI in healthcare has allowed doctors to detect early signs of diseases more effectively and provide tailored solutions for patients. “Dr. Agarwals Eye Centre and other hospitals must leverage new technologies to match the treatment standards available in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai,” the Lieutenant Governor emphasized.
Highlighting the significant transformation in J&K’s healthcare landscape over recent years, Sinha remarked, “Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we’ve strived to ensure every citizen has access to quality healthcare. The rapid growth of both government and private healthcare infrastructure guarantees a healthier future for the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir.”
To bolster community health services, Sinha encouraged Dr. Agarwals Eye Centre and other facilities to organize free eye check-up camps throughout J&K, particularly in rural and border regions. He stressed the importance of offering services like telemedicine and virtual consultations to enhance patient reach.
Dr. Ashar Agarwal, Chief Business Officer of Dr. Agarwals Group of Eye Hospitals, and Dr. Atif Ali Mir, Head of Clinical Services at the Srinagar hospital, alongside various other officials, attended the inauguration. Furthermore, representatives from different sectors, including Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Secretary of the Science & Technology Department, and Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary of Health and Medical Education, were present to support the initiative.
This move signifies a crucial step towards revolutionizing healthcare access in Jammu and Kashmir. The integration of AI in healthcare signifies not only a technological upgrade but also a commitment to enhancing overall health standards in the region. By providing personalized treatment tailored to individual needs, healthcare professionals aim to create a responsive healthcare framework that caters to all demographics in J&K.
