Terrorists Prepped at LoC, BSF On High Alert for Infiltration

A senior officer from the Border Security Force (BSF) announced on Saturday that terrorists are positioned at launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC) with plans to infiltrate the Kashmir valley. Inspector General (IG) Ashok Yadav reassured reporters that security forces stand vigilant, ready to counter any infiltration attempts.

As winter approaches, Yadav pointed out that infiltration attempts are likely to increase until November. He stated, “There are always attempts to infiltrate before snowfall. There are still about two months, and chances of infiltration are there till November because they know they will have lesser chances for the next six months.” This proactive warning highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region.

Yadav specifically mentioned the activities of terrorists awaiting their chance across the LoC. He confirmed, “There is a presence of terrorists on the launch pads across the LoC opposite our area of responsibility in the Bandipora and Kupwara sectors.” Despite their intentions to infiltrate, he emphasized that security forces maintain a rigorous presence and are ready for any eventuality.

As conditions fluctuate, including inclement weather, Yadav noted that terrorists occasionally delay their moves. He reiterated the impending threats, stating, “The attempts are always there, but we are prepared and alert.” The BSF’s readiness is marked by the advanced technology and tactical strategies employed on the ground.

The IG highlighted the collaborative efforts between the BSF and the Indian Army in maintaining strict control over the LoC. Yadav explained, “Along with the army, we are dominating the LoC very well.” Their monitoring capabilities have proven effective, with the forces successfully thwarting two infiltration attempts this year.

The IG commended the high-tech surveillance equipment that aids in their intelligence efforts. He articulated, “It is very difficult to infiltrate our area of responsibility because of the alertness with which we perform our duties and the new methodology and new surveillance equipment that we have.” The emphasis on vigilance and innovative tools marks a significant aspect of the forces’ operational success.

The overarching concern of infiltration attempts reflects the ongoing volatility in Jammu and Kashmir, where security remains paramount. As tensions linger, the BSF’s proactive measures and readiness signal a strong commitment to safeguarding the region.

In conclusion, the insight provided by IG Ashok Yadav not only reinforces the security framework around the LoC but also underscores the continuous threat posed by terrorists. With winter approaching, the BSF remains on high alert, steadfast in their mission to protect the Kashmir valley.
