The District Administration of Anantnag has stepped up its crackdown on drug peddlers, demolishing 15 illegal structures during a major enforcement operation in Waghama, Bijbehara on Saturday. This move is part of the 100-Day Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign aimed at creating a drug-free environment across Jammu and Kashmir.
Authorities confirmed that this operation reaffirmed their commitment to dismantle narcotic networks and target illegal assets associated with drug trafficking. In a coordinated effort, revenue authorities, alongside police officials, demolished the illegal structures which included 15 shops illegally constructed on State and Kahcharai land.
The specific locations of these structures fall under Khasra Nos. 2494 (min) and 2495 (min) in Estate Waghama, known for being linked to individuals facing charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The endeavor marks a significant stride in reclaiming public property from illegal occupants and ensuring safety for local residents.
Officials highlighted that the operation served a dual purpose: not only did it demolish illegal properties tied to drug trafficking but also facilitated the retrieval of valuable State and Kahcharai land. This vigorous action contributes to the broader vision of eradicating drug-related issues within the region.
The District Administration of Anantnag has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards drug peddling, narcotics networks, and unlawful encroachments, emphasizing that their efforts will not end here. Authorities promised to continue strict and sustained action against all illegal activities associated with drugs throughout the campaign.
The message from the administration is clear. Individuals engaging in drug-related activities or illegal land encroachments will face stringent legal actions in the near future. As Anantnag pushes forward with the Nasha Mukt campaign, the focus remains firmly set on eradicating drug usage and its supply chains within the district.
