Jammu || In the context of upcoming Republic Day programme Police Sub Division West held a meeting with the Hotel Association where the hotels falling within the busy and heavily frequented Jewel Chowk and the adjoining areas participated. SHO Nowabad Inspector Neeraj Bhagat apprised the gathering regarding the various ways in which the different channels of communication and contact have been established between the Police Station Nowabad and the hotels.
SDPO West Pranav Mahajan highlighted the various security related concerns and sought active cooperation and support of the hoteliers. He emphasized that not only the CCTVs need to be installed but that they should be of good quality and should be strategically placed for which the police will render all the possible help. He also impressed upon the requirement of taking the ID proofs of not only one person but of all the members of a particular group.
He told the hoteliers that under no circumstances any person with a weapon should be allowed to stay in their premises. He further added that a complete and exhaustive identification of all the staff members should be carried out. In order to ensure instant and reliable information flow between the police and the Hotel Association a WhatsApp group has been created by SHO Nowabad Neeraj Bhagat.
SDPO Pranav Mahajan while interacting stated that as per the directions of SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta, IPS regular hotel checking and market checking under the supervision of SP City North Vinod Kumar, IPS is being done regularly. He thanked and applauded the positive role of the hotel association. The meeting was attended by the representatives of various hotels including Inderjeet Khajuria, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Harbans Singh Manhas, Pritam Sharma and Baldev Raj. In their statements they assured that they will extend all the help to the police for the smooth run of the Republic Day function.
