JKSSB Released Teaching Staff Vacancies: No “Ache Din” To Be Seen

While the youth of J&K is struggling hard and facing competition at every step to establish a career for a better life, BJP’s slogan of “Ache Din Aayege” in the last elections came as a ray of hope for us. Well, generating more job opportunities sure was on their ‘To Do List’ but it’s nowhere to be seen as ‘Done’ lately or maybe that was only meant for a specific region? Our Government needs to be clear about these in future!
JKSSB released vacancies for the post of teachers {General and Science-Math} on 28-12-2017 and to our great surprise it has become the latest example of regional discrimination. A striking difference in the allotment of vacancies can be seen between the three main regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. While Jammu region did not get any vacancies in 9 of its districts which includes Kathua, Jammu, Doda, Ramban to name a few, there was not any good news for Ladakh region either with 0% seats allocated to it.
The competition for these posts is already very tight as only the residents of a particular district can apply for the seats allotted to it in the Open Merit. How does allotting no seats to a major chunk help the aspirants? There is a clear unavailability of a seat they can fight for. It appears that instead of generating jobs our government is working on shutting them down. The government is answerable to the youth for such a poor and seemingly biased distribution, which makes us question the government on how is it planning to make J&K progress with an unemployed youth?
