Jammu, 29-12-2017: Peeved over the bizarre advertisements published by JKSSB for the district cadre posts of teachers a day ago in which Jammu division has been severely marginalized, scores of Panther activists along with the youth spearheaded by Mr. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and Mr. Yash Paul Kundal State President Young Panthers staged a vociferous protest demonstration at Exhibition Ground Jammu today. The aggrieved protestors while raising anti- BJP slogans torched its effigy and cautioned the State govt. to do away with the discriminatory notifications or face the aftermath.
Accusing the Saffron brigade of selling the aspirations of Jammu youth to the valley centric PDP for continuing in power, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh regretted that the wounds of discriminatory selections by the SSB were not even healed when the saffron flavoured govt issued the extremely biased notifications for the posts of teachers which sparked outrage among the young fraternity in view of the peanut share of such posts allocated to the Jammu region. He figured out that the JKSSB notified 2154 District cadre posts of teacher in the department of School Education in 3 advertisements vide Adv. No. 06 of 2017 on Thursday viz-a-viz Gen. Teacher: 1296 posts, Science/ Math Teacher: 644 posts and Urdu Teacher: 214 posts respectively. Shocked over the statistical distribution of the posts in each division, he dismayed that while Kashmir Division was allotted 1864 posts with 86% of lion share, Jammu Division was only conferred 290 posts with just 14% of paltry share. He further pointed out that Ladakh region in Kashmir Division was the worst sufferer of the obnoxious discrimination with 0% share in the total allocation of posts. Considering district wise allocation of posts, Mr. Singh rued that all the 10 districts of Kashmir region were allocated with their respective quota of posts in all the three advertisements but 6 districts of Kathua, Jammu, Poonch, Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar in Jammu province and 2 districts of Leh and Kargil in Ladakh province were out rightly left out from the said advertisements.
Lambasting the unimaginable magnitude of discriminatory treatment to Jammu region, Mr. Singh said the BJP partnered Govt had severely jolted and shuddered the youth of entire Jammu province, with the saffron leaders remaining impuissant and criminally silent over the most glaring example of prejudiced advertisements for the posts of teachers. “Shameful acquiesce of BJP before the Kashmir centric leadership for the crumbs of power had marginalized Jammu region not only in selections to govt. services but also in employment notifications. The vicious strategy under a deep rooted conspiracy of the unholy alliance had put the careers of Jammu youth in jeopardy. The Saffron MLAs had been exposed for their treachery and perfidy who were just playing a second fiddle role in the ruling coalition. BJP having sold the interests of Jammu youth needed to part ways with the PDP and quit the government”, Harsh said. He maintained that share of Kashmir region in employment increased manifold in the present BJP-PDP government while Jammu Pradesh was being robbed of its nominal share and apparently divested of govt. jobs in principle which had caused huge discontent and embitterment among the student and the youth. Mr. Singh urged the Governor to take cognizance of the discrimination meted out to the young fraternity of Jammu region in employment sphere before their anger could take an ugly turn and order the revocation of the impugned advertisements made by the SSB.
Mr. Yash Paul Kundal while, asserting that the discriminatory policy of the govt. had been the root cause of the disenchantment and outrage among the educated unemployed youth of Jammu region, warned the mandated leaders of Jammu region to ensure justice to the youth by ensuring them a fair deal in the selections and competition. He said that the volatile situation could prove catastrophic beyond redemption if such nasty trend continued further.
