Demanding road connectivity, villagers in Bhaderwah hold protests

Bhaderwah :The villagers of Sherakhi and its adjoining areas in Bhaderwah on Saturday held a protect demonstration against the Jammu and Kashmir government for failing to construct a road to their villages.

Hundreds of people from many villages of Sherakhi area participated in the protest for delaying the construction of Sherakhi link road.


Early in the morning, the villagers took out a protest procession from Sherakhi which after passing through various villages reached Eid gah road where they blocked Bhaderwah-Sartingal road for some hours and staged protest.

The protesters condemned the attitude of administration and Government for delaying the construction of Sherkahi village road. They said that if the construction work on these roads is not started in one week, they will sit on the road and block the traffic at Pul Doda .

“We will intensify our protest, if our demand are not redressed,” the protesters warned.

Later during the day Brijesh Sharma, SDPO ,Bhaderwah reached the spot and pacified the protesters by assuring them that their issue will be taken before concerned authority.
